Osteosarcoma of jaw, common entity at an uncommon site: a rare case report

<p class="abstract">Osteosarcoma is the most common primary malignant bone tumor. Jaw an uncommon site. The etiopathogenesis still unknown. We present a case of 47-year-old female who underwent left partial maxillectomy as lesion increased in size over one month after removal tooth. Prior to surgery, computed tomography (CT) scan was suggestive maxillary sinus carcinoma and biopsy report spindle cell lesion. Partial specimen received which tumor 5.5×5.5×4 cm with pearly-white, solid, homogenous cut surface gritty sensation on cutting. On histopathology it turned out be osteosarcoma jaw. Mouse double minute 2 homolog (MDM2) special AT-rich sequence-binding protein (SATB2) done confirm diagnosis osteosarcoma. patient given chemotherapy confirmation at doing well.</p>
